Fitzemeyer & Tocci recently completed commissioning activities for the newly renovated Goodell Hall on the UMass Amherst campus. This extensive renovation encompassed both sections of the building—the original three-story structure built in 1934 and the six-story addition constructed in 1960—totaling 129,765 square feet.
The project achieved LEED Silver Certification, reflecting its commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency. F&T played a critical role in ensuring system functionality and performance, conducting design reviews and commissioning the new HVAC, plumbing, electrical, low-voltage, life safety, and building automation and control systems.
With a focus on optimizing building performance and occupant comfort, F&T’s commissioning efforts helped facilitate a smooth transition into the updated space. Staff began moving into the newly renovated facility in January 2025, marking the successful completion of this modernized and energy-efficient campus asset.
