Brown University renovated Keeney Quad, the largest self-contained residential complex on campus. The project added two new elevators, three magnet lounges on the top floors, and single-use accessible bathrooms on every floor, renovated existing bathrooms, and replaced the existing oil-fired generator.
Fitzemeyer & Tocci provided HVAC, plumbing, and electrical engineering design and construction administration services for the 180,000 sq ft renovation, while considering new life-safety and stand-by power issues and maintaining the campus aesthetic.
“The Brown University Keeney Quad project was Phase 1 of a multiple phase project. The goal was to quickly design and construct building upgrades to ensure occupancy in the fall. Fitzemeyer & Tocci was a vital part of the team that made this project a reality.”
